In the celebrity contest for The Gold Jacket and an Omega Seamaster watch, England football legend Ray Wilkins emerged victorious after a mighty tussle with fellow debutant and cricket hero Darren Gough.
The man affectionately known as ‘Butch’ also skippered his team to glory as Premier Medical 1 edged out Asahi on a countback after a day characterised by unusually low scoring. To see the full scoreboard from the day click here.
From midday, spectators enjoyed the acoustic sounds organised by James Walsh - Treetop Flyers, Goldheart Assembly, James Walsh, Josh Weller, Ben Montague, The Ray Edwards Band and Lizzy Pattinson - on the Jager Music stage.
The golfers, meanwhile, were marvelling at the quality of the course presented by greenkeeper John Jennings and his team; a test that the two-time European Tour winner Marc Warren described as “the best par-3 course I’ve ever played” and included Stratstone of Mayfair offering a Jaguar for the first player to score a hole in one on the 3rd.
